In the summer of 2023, I had the privilege of helping coordinate the first conference for the Women of Color and Nonbinary People of Color in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Allied Fields (WOC in EEB) community. Our Networks of Success Conference brought together WOC in EEB to envision pathways to academic leadership and build science collaborations between WOC scientists.
As a conference coordinator, I developed our written and visual communication materials, redesigned and updated the WOC in EEB website, regularly communicated with participants regarding event details, and otherwise ensured the conference ran smoothly.
In addition to the conference, I have been supporting the WOC in EEB Mentoring Programs since 2021.
